The aim of this website is to publish the results of the research project “Automatic management of precision irrigation in fruit trees. Design of sensors and sensitivity study of water stress indicators”. This project is financed in the call for applicatins for R&D projects corresponding to the State Programme for Research, Development and Innovation oriented towards the challenges of society 2016 by the “Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades – Agencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI)” and co-financed by the “Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER)”. Reference: AGL2016-77282-C3-3R”

The project addresses the priority line derived from the National R & D Plan related to the conservation and integral, efficient and sustainable management of water resources, which includes aspects as relevant as technological improvements, management and efficient use of irrigation water: irrigation strategies at plot level and precision irrigation based on sensors, application of remote sensing and TICs.

Main objectives

  • Agro-physiological evaluation of precision irrigation with sensors measuring the soil-plant-atmosphere water status and soil salinity.
  • Design, calibration and evaluation of water status and soil salinity sensors.
  • Determination of the crop water status indexes with multi-spectral sensors.
  • Application of soft computing techniques to the soil-plant-atmosphere set. Analysis of the goodness of precision irrigation automation systems.
